No matter what happens in your life through set backs relationship disappointments you must always follow your dreams?
It’s very Important to be connected with your internal essence and never ignore your internal feelings ! If you’re not aligned with your inner essence you’ll never be at one with yourself!
Even if those dreams might frighten you otherwise you’ll always live a half live? Simple really it’s so important to focus on your single most important dream.
Whats my dream? Is to sail around the world solo over 10 years? Why? I love sailing that’s the main reason but there are other elements to why its important to me to undertake this journey?
I have been concerned about climate issues for quite sometime, especially mans insatiable appitite for energy or automotive and electrical power. Digging up and mining fossilied fuel sources such as coal, gas and petoleum. the by product of all our energy consumption is exhaust gases of carbon pumped directly into the atmosphere every single day hour and day of the year.
What are the consequences of all this forced fossilised carbon into the atmosphere is the inexable rise of carbon dioxide concetrations increasing the radiations of the suns energy backdown towards earth surface now at 417ppm which is rising the temperature of the earths surface and oceans.
This might be the right time to undertake this voyage before climatic conditions become too unstable for ocean sailing in small boats? Spritual element to this journey is being propelled along by the winds lond distances and the exciting oppotunity to make new land falls see new places people and wildlife.
I have sold my two sailing boats Nicholson 32 and my Beneteau First 30 JK last year. I now have the funds to buy another sailing boat? What type and size of boat should I buy this i have mullied over for quite awhile? What size?
well I did consider boat of 40 feet but I thought no longer than 37 feet. What type of hull shape? I decided on older sailing boats with encapsulated hulls not bolt on type? After reading the story of Exide Challenger and Tony bullimore capsizing in the southern oceans put me off bolt on keels when undertaking serious ocean sailing.
Nicholson 32 Barada I loved with her long encapsulated keel solid sea kindly boat, I thought what about a bigger Nicholson older boats not too expensive? But not a tiller helm, due to my earlier neck injury, which gave me constant problems physically helming Barada. Must have a wheel and mybe not a full keel, with better sailing performance to a Nic 32.
I’d seen North Star Nicholson 35 advertised through Clark & Carter yacht brokers through their caribbean agent in Grenada. Nicholson 35’s were used by the Royal Navy as sail training vessels based in Gosport near Portsmouth England. I knew they were good sailing boats. This particular boat had been geared up for circumnavigation but unfortunately it eneded up in a boatyard in Grenada plans dashed due to covid lockdown.
NORTH STAR Nicolson 35
Finally a personal note from an old man? Please don’t waste your lives they’re too precious to waste?
Go out there live and love and enjoy the most beautiful planet in the universe, take it from me its unique. But more importantly cherish it, why? its given us all life!
